Several life table functions were assessed in terms of statistical inference. Major findings form the 1985 Korean life table estimation are summarized as follows:
1) Probabilities of dying at birth(q_0) are 0.00513 for males and 0.00491 for females.
2) Standard errors of the survival probability of dying at each age interval 0, 15-19, 70-74 are 0.0001277, 0.0001281, 0.0021554 for males and 0.0001304, 0.0001012, 0.0014461 for females.
3) Comparing the difference between Korean males and females, the survival probabilities of females are significantly higher than their counterparts at each age group except at birth.
4) The expectations of life at birth, e_0 are 65.7 years for males and 74.5 years for females.
